LifeTrail is a recreation program specifically designed to meet the needs of older adults. In a nutshell, the system incorporates a series of ten outdoor wellness stations located along a walking path.
With the population of older adults on the rise and life expectancy increasing, maintaining fitness, wellness and quality of life are high priorities for older adults. Available in Australia through Miracle, LifeTrail incorporates the preferred physical activity of older adults – walking – but adds complementary physical activities to increase overall wellness outcomes.
Miracle is an established Australian owned business that has been manufacturing and installing recreation equipment for over 25 years. All products installed by Miracle – including the LifeTrail system – meet current Australian Standards.
Using the LifeTrail system is fun, social and great exercise. It encourages older adults to be outdoors and is practical, as it makes use of existing walking paths.
LifeTrail has been developed by Playworld Systems in conjunction with gerontology, kinesiology and recreation experts from Penn State University.
In addition to LifeTrail, Miracle also manufactures and installs playground equipment, park furniture, barbeques, shade sails and security products.
